NIKE "JUMP" SPOT

Beijing 2008 Olympic commercial featured for Brasil featuring Nike Triple jump athlete Jadel Gregorio. This was the first :60 spot produced for the Brazilian market and it replaced the Nike global spot "Courage" in Brazil during the Olympics.

AF1 SCULPTURE BY SICKSYSTEMS

Nike has commissioned various artists and designers to create installations in their concept stores. In its Moscow concept store, 1980, Nike is currently displaying the Air Force One Sculpture by a crew of graphic designers called Sicksystems.

RADCLIFFE TO WEAR UNION JACK ZOOM MARATHONER

British Marathoner Paula Radcliffe will take to the streets of Beijing in Sunday’s marathon in a specially customized Union Jack version of her Nike Zoom Marathoner running shoes.



NIKE TO RUN ADS FOR REST OF OLYMPICS

Nike has secured waivers from the [IOC] to run ads featuring Olympic athletes during the duration of the Beijing Games. Though IOC regulations stipulate that athletes must not feature in brand activity during the Olympics, Nike has been granted dispensation to run the ads despite the fact that rival adidas is the official sponsor. Nike's first ad, which launched Thursday, is a viral campaign starring Britain heptathlete Kelly Sotherton.

NIKE LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN AROUND PAULA RADCLIFFE

Nike has launched an ad campaign, via Wieden & Kennedy, London, in support of Great Britain marathoner Paula Radcliffe's bid to win Gold in Beijing. The effort, one of several includes print ads and a Web site, www.weruntogether.com. Visitors to the site can support Radcliffe by signing their name on one of the 22,850 steps it takes to cover" the 26.2-mile race.

Artiist Darbotz recently created an installation that incorporates Nike Flywire technology as inspiration. Using different materials Darbotz attempts to cature the technolgy through his medium.

Nike Sportswear collaborates with 290 Square Meters and Appletree Records to produce a musical track inspired by the new Nike’s AW 77 sweater made by Loopwheeler in Japan.

UNIV. OF WASHINGTON INKS 10-YR DEAL W/NIKE

The Univ. of Washington and Nike have agreed to terms on a new 10-year extension, which runs through June 30, 2019. The deal has a combined minimum monetary and product value of nearly $35M, with additional incentives that could push the value to approximately $39M over the 10-year term.

Mixed in with kicks and gear was a seriously impressive Nike Sportswear Art Exhibit by Alist. The feel of the night: "Designed for Sport, Remixed for Life".
